Privacy notice

Last updated October 29, 2026

Driftlearn is not open to families yet. Right now the only personal information we collect is what adults give us to join the waitlist. This notice explains that, and the rules we will follow when the tutor opens.

The short version

  • Right now we hold only what adults give us to join the waitlist: an email, and a role if you share it.
  • We never sell your email or share it for advertising, and we don’t track whether you open our emails.
  • We don’t collect children’s information on this site. If we learn we hold a child’s email, we delete it.
  • Every email we send has a link that removes you from the waitlist straight away.
  • When the tutor opens, a parent creates every account and the camera reads only the page.

What we collect today

  • Your email address, so we can tell you when Driftlearn opens.
  • Whether you are a parent or an educator, if you choose to tell us.
  • If you joined through someone’s invite link, the invite code from that link.

We do not collect children’s information on this website. Please don’t enter a child’s email address. If we learn that we hold a child’s email, we delete it.

How we use it

We email you to confirm your address and, once confirmed, to tell you when Driftlearn opens. We don’t send marketing beyond that, we don’t track whether you open our emails, and we never sell your address or share it for advertising.

Who else handles it

Our email delivery provider sends messages on our behalf and our hosting providers store data for us, under contracts that limit them to providing those services. Data is stored in the United States.

How long we keep it

If you never confirm, we delete your email a few days after the confirmation link expires. Confirmed entries are kept until Driftlearn opens and we have invited you, or until you remove your email, whichever comes first.

Your choices

Every email we send has a link that deletes your email from the waitlist straight away. You can also write to privacy@driftlearn.com to see, correct or delete what we hold about you.

When the tutor opens

Before any student uses Driftlearn, we will publish a full privacy policy for the product. Family accounts will hold the parent’s name and email; each child’s first name, grade, and birth month and year (so we know when parental consent is required); and what a child writes and says in sessions with Drift. That policy will keep these commitments:

  • A parent creates every account, with verifiable parental consent for children under 13.
  • The camera reads only the page, never a face, attention or emotions.
  • No ads, no selling data, and no third-party trackers on anything a student uses.
  • Replays kept 90 days by default, with export and deletion at any time.
  • Using de-identified data to improve Drift is opt-in, and off by default for children under 13.

Does Driftlearn sell your family’s data?

Pick one. A wrong pick gets a hint, never the answer.
